2 months to go!!

So we have about 2 months to go before we get to take our much needed R&R. It will be nice to be in the first world again. I was telling my mother the other day on the phone that I put the over under at 22lbs. As in the amount of weight I expect to gain being back. It will be tough not to get it.

It has been interesting our stay so far. We are looking at an R&R in the face. Some friends we know will be leaving in the next few months. We are both very busy and suffering fromthe Harmattan badly and looking forward to some rain in about a month or so! Some interesting changes coming.

People should be expecting some invitations to the wedding soon. We are really looking forward to it. We will also be spending some time in Greenville this trip to finalize some things.

I still haven't figured out the whole baseball delema I have. The time difference is just gonna kill me. Also now that I am working and get to twork at the same time as Nyree it has been REALLY hard to stay up past 11pm.

Here are those pics from that hash run I told you about. There has been one since then but we did not go on it. You will see the Harmattan pretty well in it. It has gotten worse though and it is getting OLD!

Some kids from the local village coming to see all the white people.

View form teh highest point looking back from where we came.

Some of the hashers standing around at the halfway point.

That's Nyree and me in the front sitting. Just relaxing after a nice hike enjoying the view.

Hashers looking out over the lake. Look at that dust, and the kicker is that it has gotten worse since then!
The view out over the lake from the dam. It is an earthen dam so it is pretty neat!

Well there you go, pics I owed and something to read about. Guess that's a full days work.......ok maybe not.

Too Long

It has been too long since I last posted something. A lot has happened since then. Nyree and I have been really looking forward to our vacation coming up soon. Only 3 more months to go!!!

I have been VERY busy lately. I took the job with the AEAA board and am now the asst. general manager. The cool thing is I will now be getting paid for all the ideas and work I have been doing for them since I started. Thde bad news is now I have to step down from the board and take the position. So in a way I guess it is a sideways step for me. I guess the big thing about it is it allows me to leave a bigger fingerprint on the community than I was going to be able to before. Of course wh REALLY wants my fingerprints on them? That could get me in trouble!! ;)

I hosted a big saturday poker tournament a week ago and it was great! W e had about 20 guys show up (although we were expecting more) and we played for about 13 hours!! I have to say a big thanks to Nyree for letting me put it on. We still have our usual thurs. games every week. It is odd to see how a bankroll fluctuates when having a game every week. It is neat to see how you go on winning spurts and losing ones as well. Of course the winning ones are never long enough and the losing ones seem to go for ages. The biggest rule I have set for myself though is I never put myself in a bad situation with my bankroll. I never spend too much and Nyree has even said I could have more money if I wanted but I don't take it. I want to make sure I keep it all in perspective!

The baseball season is almost here and I am getting worried. With the time difference I am not sure how my schedule is going to work. We are 6 hours ahead right now and that means that 730pm games are at 130am here. THEN I have to worry about whether or not they will show my Braves. WHAT is a braves fan to do!!??

Nyree and I stayed up to watch most of the superbowl this past week. Course I was happy for her that her team won! I know how it feels to have your team win a championship. SOmehow you feel a bit more complete. Of course the flip side is I got to hear Ryan scream from all the way over here in Africa! Man if he took it as hard as some of the Pats fans here, he should have a black band on his right arm! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! The cool thing is before the game I told Nyree that I had changed my mind and had a feeling the Giants were actually gonna win. I told her it reminded me too much of superbowl 3 and how it is too hard for any team in the NFL to beat another 3 times in one year!

Nyree has been busy with work as ususal and time is just FLYING by now. Cooper is good. We tried to cut his hair this past weekend but the clippers broke half way through. So he has a funny hairdo. It isn't THAT bad but if you looked you could tell it isn't even. We also did the hash this past week and it was cool. We went to the dam and saw the lake out there. Except for the harmattan and teh dust flying it was fun. I will post some pics when they get posted on the group page

That is all.........

ps. Amy it is me Eric. We went to school together. Send me your email so we can catch up! Crazy way of doing it.
